Classic Photography of the Palm Beaches - " Capturing the Classic Art of Life"
June 22, 2010 Topic The Camera & the Photographer

Most recently I posted that my next topic on my blog was going to be about wedding and what that means to me, but I encounter something last week that I had to write a blog about. Last week I was told about a photographer that showed up to a wedding with a camera that was not the newest nor flashiest camera out there. When I was told of the story instead of defending the photographer I changed the topic, but what I really should have said was this. It's not the camera that makes the photographer, it's the photographer behind the camera that makes the photographer. What I mean is this with all the advance in digital technology we think that if you don't have the newest camera out there then your not a great photographer and that not always the case. I do some of my best work with a 35mm Canon Rebel SLR, I take this camera to all my Elite weddings and any family event. Yes I also bring my digital to the elite weddings. Once I had a bride ask me why I use my 35mm when it so out of fashion, and I have a fancy digital camera? My reply was so that I never for get how to take a photograph. Some times we are so caught up in technology that we forget what's really important. In my professional opinion what's really important is the image that the photographer saw in the lens, and it doesn't matter where that camera is a Rollie flex TLR film or a Cannon EOS-1Ds Mark III. What matters is the image and the life that was captured in that moment. To the photographer in my story who ever you are don't let anyone ever judge by your camera just your photographs. I wish you good luck, competition or not I still wish you the best! To my fans just remember it's not the camera that makes the photographer it's the photographer that makes the camera.

Today's Honeymoon blog comes from Tina & Rick who where married in West Palm Beach back in March of 2009. For there honeymoon they went to Moon Dance Cliffs in Negril Jamaica which is consider one of the top beaches in Jamaica. They went on their honeymoon in January of 2010 because it was the only time they could get off from work, but they said "it was worth the wait". Tina said that "Even though it was season, and the hotel was booked it felt like they we where the only ones there". They rated the service 5 out 5 on our scale 1 being poor and 5 the Best. Rick said "Any thing you need they will get it or find it, and the drink I will never forget the drinks."  Tina said "That it is very romantic specially in the pool area late at night." Maid service everyday and the food was delicious. "We had a wonderful time and we recommend it to anyone."
Now let's talk about the details, It's an all-inclusive resort which is in most cases the best way to vacation. They offer three meals, snacks, and drinks all day. When they first saw snacks on the hotels website, they where thinking chips and those types of snacks, but no that's not the case. Snacks are cheesesburgs, hot dogs, and things of that nature. Rick said I had to put that on the blog, so that every one would know. Prices start at $225.00 double occupancy per day, but remember that all meals & drinks are included. They also have villas with beach views. The best airport would be in Montego Bay and they have shuttle service to and from the airport. If you are interested there number is 1800-621-1120 or you can visit there website at  www.moondanceresorts.com  for more information.
Big Thanks to Tina & Rick for sharing there Honeymoon with us.

Since today is earth day we would like to share what we do to help keep Classic Photography of Palm Beaches green. We use recycled paper, to make any documents or contracts. Our studio lights are energy savers, and don't need to warm up, they are charge & ready to go in seconds, so we keep them off until it's time to do a photography session. We also do small thing that matter like taking that battery chargers out of the light sockets when not in use. Remember even though there is nothing on the charger it still sending small amounts of current throw the actual component, and of course that waste energy. I hope every one dose there small part to help reduce waste and save our earth. Every little step can make a big difference.

I was asked today " What would be the best song to play for the first dance as husband and wife? " I didn't have to think long about the answer, this is one question that I have been asked before, but I'm always surprise when I hear it. I told the bride that the song has to represent who you guys are as a couple. I have been to many weddings and see many dances from romantic to wild. I notice that each couples dance fits their personality. There is no right or wrong song, just what feels right for the bride and groom. Remember that the details are important, but at the end it's all about enjoying your wedding day.
